With its retro charm and friendly atmosphere, it feels like you've stepped into a 50s diner where the jukebox is always playing your favorite tunes, and the food is always served with a smile.

The menu at Mels Drive-In is a throwback to the good old days, offering everything you’d expect from a diner, and then some. Whether you're in the mood for a juicy burger, crispy fries, or a refreshing milkshake, they have something for everyone. One standout is the "Mel’s Burger," which comes with all the classic fixings, perfectly cooked to your liking. The meat is tender, juicy, and just the right amount of seasoned. It's a favorite among regulars and newcomers alike.

For those who are into something a little different, Mels also offers a variety of sandwiches and breakfast items all day long. The "Mels Benedict," for example, is a delicious spin on the traditional eggs benedict, with a hearty English muffin base, topped with perfectly poached eggs and savory hollandaise sauce. It’s the kind of dish that makes you forget all about the calories and just enjoy the moment.

The real magic of Mels Drive-In isn’t just in the food; it’s in the atmosphere. The bright neon lights, the shiny chrome accents, and the checkered floors take you back in time. • So fun. Had a friend visiting for a week from Virginia and it was her 1st time on the west coast. Our waitress was perfect and I believe she has worked there for 30 years or something like that. She was so fun. My visitor also loves the Selling Sunset show and Mel's is right across the street from the Oppenheim Group. So that is an added bonus if anyone is in to that. We actually ended up visiting Mel's twice that week. Stop in and try a yummy shake, and enjoy the ambiance *The only picture I took was of my friend in front of the Oppenheim Group, across the street from Mel's

  • Mel’s Drive-In is always a hit! A must-visit if you’re in LA. We’ve been a few times, but our recent visit for the SKIMS collab was such a fun experience and unexpected pairing of classic diner vibes with modern pop culture! The collab menu was fire, we had the Buttery soft pancakes, SKIMS Smash Burger, Trending Tenders and the SKIMS Signature Shake. Everything tasted amazing, and the whole experience felt nostalgic with a playful, fashion-forward edge. Mel’s always delivers for a quick bite — solid diner staples, cute retro atmosphere, and friendly staff. Bonus - open 24/7, so it’s the perfect go-to any time of day (or night). Highly recommend checking it out — especially if there’s a themed event going on!

  • Mels Drive-In on Sunset Boulevard is an absolute classic and one of my favorite spots in L.A.! From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with that nostalgic diner vibe, cozy booths, and great music that instantly puts you in a good mood. Everything we tried was amazing, but the braised beef grilled cheese deserves a special shout-out, it was perfectly crispy on the outside, loaded with tender, flavorful beef and melted cheese. Total comfort food heaven! The staff were friendly and attentive, even though the place was busy, and the service felt genuinely warm. The milkshakes and fries were also fantastic, exactly what you’d hope for in a classic American diner. Whether you’re visiting L.A. or a local looking for that old-school Hollywood charm, Mels Drive-In is a must. Great food, great energy, and that perfect mix of nostalgia and fun.

  • I visited Mel’s Drive-In at Sunset Plaza (8585 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood), and it was honestly one of the most memorable moments of my trip to Los Angeles. At first, everything was just perfect, the retro vibe, classic diner music, and warm California sunset setting the mood. I ordered the Hollywood Burger, paired with crispy golden fries and a cold refreshing beer, and just sat back, completely relaxed and soaking in the iconic atmosphere of West Hollywood. But what started as a chill evening turned into a heart-stopping moment when I realized I had lost my wallet and not just any wallet, but the one that held all my most important documents, including my passport. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to return to my home country. I felt panic rise in my chest and was literally on the verge of tears. Luckily, the staff at Mel’s Drive-In were incredibly kind, calm, and quick to help. One of them had found my wallet and kept it safe, and when they handed it back to me completely intact, I almost cried out of relief and gratitude. It was not just about great food or a nostalgic American diner experience. It was about genuine kindness. Mel’s Drive-In gave me not only a taste of Hollywood but also a memory that I will never forget. Thank you to the amazing staff, you didn’t just serve food, you saved my trip.

  • It has to be five stars. We felt very comfortable. The service was extremely friendly and prompt. It was excellent and of very high quality. It's clean, and the decor is magical. Back to the 1950s. Parking free

  • We had a fun time stopping into Mel’s for a quick meal. It has a great atmosphere with classic diner vibes. We ordered a Tuna Melt, Reuben, and French Dip, plus a side of French fries—the fries were especially good. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cookie with ice cream. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a fun and nostalgic meal.

  • First of all, it was a really great burguer and french fries. My brother ordered some chicken tenders and if you take a look at the picture they could look simple, they are but also good. Atmosphere is great, you can play a song at the place by entering a coin in the jukebox, that was so cool, more to me because I did not had that experience in my life haha, anyway it is great. Something that I did not like was that the waitress gave us the receipt and told us "just bringing this here, no rush guys" and that was ok, but then like 5-8 min later she was already charging us. And I fell kinda rushed by her. We were not ready yet to leave, we were planning to stay a little bit more and the place was almost empty, plenty of tables free and no people waitin. That was my only problem.
